Over the weekend in Arlington, Texas, a driver lost control of his 2021 Chevy Impala before hitting a concrete median while on the 1900 block of East I-30. Before the crash occurred, police received multiple 911 calls to report that the Impala was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of I-30, and heading east from the I-30 / E Loop 820 interchange in Fort Worth. According to police, the Impala was driving the wrong direction when he entered the closed westbound HOV lane at Center Street in Arlington. After the motorist lost control, he struck the concrete median where the car caught fire on impact. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police believe speed and impairment were factors in the crash. There were no additional victims in the crash.
