New Jersey Man ‘Fakes Slip and Fall, Files Fraudulent Insurance Claim’

Desperate people will do desperate things for money. However, if you think attempting to fool insurance companies with a fake claim sounds like a good idea, think again. Apparently, 57 year old Alexander Goldinsky from New Jersey thought this was a wise idea when he allegedly staged a slip-and-fall incident at a local business.

Security cameras captured the entire scene on camera. Take a look:

Deliberately faking an injury claim is not only somewhat humorous (in this case), it is also insurance fraud. Legislation varies from state to state, but in the state of New Jersey, insurance fraud is a third-degree felony, which can result in 5-10 years of prison time.

Insurance companies, and their lobbying groups behind so-called tort reform of the last 15-20 years, have made it very difficult for true injury victims to receive a fair settlement for a legitimate case. Because of insurance fraud accounts for upwards of $80 billion per year, insurance companies can hardly be blamed for circling the wagons on nearly every claim they handle. However, their push for so-called tort reform has made it even tougher for personal injury victims with legitimate claims to get their day in court and be made whole again.  Meanwhile, insurance fraud is still on the rise. This is why personal injury claimants often require an experienced accident attorney to press their case and get the full amount that they deserve. It is extremely important to find the most qualified attorney to take your case. Luckily, Reyes Browne Reilley has your back.
