On Sunday, June 2nd a helicopter carrying four passengers crashed at the Backwoods Music Festival in Mulberry Mountain, AR.
The helicopter giving birds-eye tours of the festival was scheduled to return at 7:00 PM, but never came back. Police received a 911 distress signal from a passenger’s cellphone. The crash was found around 8:00 PM.
One pilot and three patrons were aboard the helicopter at the time of the crash. Monday morning, Arkansas Department of Emergency Management and Arkansas State Police confirmed three fatalities and recovered one injured survivor, although they have not specified whether the pilot or one of the passengers was the lone survivor. They have not released any names at this time.
Backwoods Music Festival shut down early, and two headlining artists‘ scheduled sets were cancelled.

UPDATE 6/3/19 at 2:30 PM — Sarah Hill from Austin, TX was one of the casualties of this crash.

UPDATE 6/3/19 at 4:00 PM — The other two casualties were Pilot Chuck Dickson of Tulsa, OK and Marco Orneals of Mexico. The lone survivor is Zachari Peterson of Omaha, NE. He was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he is currently in critical condition with several broken bones and internal injuries.
