Dallas Traumatic Brain Injury FAQs

Get answers to commonly asked questions about our legal services and learn how Angel Reyes & Associates may assist you with your case.

What should I do immediately after a traumatic brain injury in Dallas?

After a traumatic brain injury in Dallas, get emergency medical care right away, even if your symptoms seem mild at first. TBI symptoms can worsen over hours or days, and prompt evaluation creates the medical record your case depends on. Contact a traumatic brain injury lawyer as soon as you are able.

How do I know if I suffered a TBI in my accident?

Symptoms of a traumatic brain injury include headaches, confusion, memory problems, dizziness, mood changes, and difficulty concentrating. Some symptoms appear immediately; others develop over days or weeks. If you experienced any impact to the head in your accident, get a medical evaluation before assuming you are fine.

What damages can a TBI victim pursue in Texas?

A TBI victim in Texas may be able to pursue compensation for emergency and ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, lost wages, reduced earning capacity, and the effect of the injury on daily life and relationships. Because TBI often has long-term consequences, it is important that your claim accounts for future costs, not just current bills.

How long after a traumatic brain injury in Dallas can I file my claim?

In Texas, the statute of limitations for most personal injury cases is two years from the date of the injury. TBI cases benefit from early investigation while medical evidence and accident scene documentation are still available.
