Steve “Dusty” Smith has been an attorney since 1990. He also served in the Military reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Dusty has spent his career aggressively representing personal injury plaintiffs in state courts throughout Texas. LTC Smith obtained his Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from the University of Texas at Austin in 1982 as a full-time student and working a full-time job.

On June 1, 1990, LTC Smith was sworn into the United States Army as a First Lieutenant. He served six years active duty in the Judge Advocate General’s Corp where he served as a prosecutor and criminal defense attorney. Furthermore, he held a position in Honduras where he was the legal liaison between the Military and the American Embassy in Honduras. While stationed in Honduras, LTC Smith was nominated for the honor of being the Best Young Attorney in the United States Military.

In 1999, LTC Smith was elected to the city council in the City of Lancaster, Texas, where he served three terms. In 2000, LTC Smith was voted “Best Elected Official in the Best Southwest”, which included Lancaster, De Soto, Duncanville, Cedar Hill, and Midlothian, Texas. After moving to Dallas in 2002, LTC Smith was appointed acting chairman for the City of Dallas Civil Service Board by Mayor Laura Miller. LTC Smith has also served on the Board of Directors for the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce.

LTC Smith is also a published author and speaker.

In his free time, LTC Smith enjoys reading, writing music, and singing. He is also very involved with his Church, and being involved in LTC Smith has performed professionally and has won honors for his singing and songwriting. Most of all, however, LTC Smith enjoys spending time with his family. His family consists of his wife, Susan, his sons Joshua and Matthew, and his daughter Brittany.

Melena L. Sparkman, a Washburn University School of Law graduate with a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University, has a diverse legal background. She interned with the Denton County District Attorney’s Office and the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office during her academic years. Post-graduation, Melena worked with the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse, managing programs, conducting legal research, and contributing to policy implementation. She also worked with the Boy Scouts of America National Office’s legal department to coordinate trainings and legal compliance.

Melena currently represents clients in car accidents, company vehicle accidents, truck accidents, and workplace incidents at Angel Reyes & Associates. Her journey reflects a commitment to legal excellence across various legal sectors.

Ekhlaas Khandekar earned his bachelor’s in business administration from Mississippi College School before obtaining his Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law. During his law school tenure, he served as the treasurer of the Health Law Society and interned at an Immigration Clinic, assisting refugees seeking asylum, and the Mississippi Department of Mental Health.

Further enriching his legal education, Ekhlaas studied International Law abroad in Xian, Chengdu, and Beijing, China, as well as Seoul, South Korea. Since acquiring his bar license, Mr. Khandekar has dedicated his career to personal injury law, advocating for clients in various cases, including motor vehicle collisions
